12 Infected With New Swine Flu Strain - H3N2
Here we go again. If we get another 1918 type of flu with the deaths they had we are toast.
http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/...ine-flu-strain
"The days of medical masks at airports and widespread panic may be coming back—that's because at least 12 humans are believed to have been infected with a new strain of swine flu that's not covered by this season's vaccine.
The new swine flu strain, H3N2v, has shown at least some potential for human-to-human transmission in those 12 individuals, which makes it especially dangerous. Between 2009 and mid-2010, more than 17,000 people died worldwide from the highly contagious H1N1 swine flu strain, leading the World Health Organization to call the strain a pandemic.
The 12 people with the new swine flu strain live in Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia...."
Cases in 5 states is not good.

READ the whole article. This isn't the regular flu that they have planned for. The vaccine they are giving provides no help at all on this one.
Time to order up some Sambucol.

I was sicker than a green maggot Monday night, and I just visited a friend who looks as bad today. If that's it, good news, its gone fast too.

They are talking about gene sequencing that is used to identify the genetics of the specific variation of the virus. I guess only time will tell if there is something to worry about. That said, I avoid crowds like the plague anyway. My DW is the opposite - going to the big city (San Antonio) is her cup of tea. For me it's just too ----ed many people in too darned small a place.

They say that every year, and vaccines rarely cover more than a few strains anyway.
Just take the normal precautions and don't worry about media hype, since it won't change anything at all

I believe in using common sense. During flu season, stay away from crowds. Practice good hygiene and as soon as you feel like you may be coming down with something, stay home and take care of yourself.

Two summers ago I did some work in amsterdam and at the time they were having a real bad break out of swine flu. And course lucky me contracted it. I was out of commission for a month where I literally couldnt raise my head. During that time I had three E.R. visits. I can say it almost took me out. Now every time I get a cough I start to sweat alittle bit

For those who work in health care it is concerning when they get the mix of the vaccination wrong. I'm hoping that I will have at least partial immunity since I had the original strain of the swine flu. My newborn boy and youngest daughter also had it.

Media hype is worse than the flu.

So 12 people with most cases coming from animal contact with no comment anybody being hospitalized. I believe this all means that the CDC wants more funding so they are trying to scare people.

The way vaccines are done is they target the most likely out of many strains. They will always miss strains. To make it worse we aren't funding badly needed research that would develop vaccines in days rather than months.
Instead we throw almost unlimited amounts of money at the military industrial complex.

The thing is, with 12 clinically verified cases, that means many many more are already in process incubating in the general public. Clinically verified means they cultured them and found a match, via CDC no doubt. So its been in the 'wild' for a while, and there's no way to stop the spread of something contagious like that unless you quarantine. With these 12 people being in 5 different states, you can bet that the rest of us will be exposed shortly if we haven't already had it.
Flu is going through here bad...upper respiratory bug with a lot of congestion/sinus issues + fever.
Might not be a bad idea to boost the immune system with vitamins and an anti-viral like elderberry.

Yes, that makes sense. Especially indoor gatherings of people during the winter. Especially, especially those where there are small children smearing themselves all over the people (e.g., family gatherings, daycare, schools, etc).
The cold, dirt and such don't make us sick. It is disease transmitted specifically by other people that causes illness. The viruses and bacteria have spent millions of years evolving to take advantage of our social behaviors. Break the link.

Alot of workers have natural immunity. My husband has been going it for 22 years. He has had the flu twice. It is the newbies that don't have the immunity.
He was just thrown up on again today good thing for fluid resisitant pants. They get washed at the squad. yuck!
They made him get the flu shot this year and they told and he told them if it gave him the flu or weakend his immune system it was their fault.
For days after us wives and kids complained or our noses itching and burning inside. almost everyone who had the shot family members had this like the shot was viral to others some even got the flu from the shot. The relatives! One worker was sick for five weeks. really sick. One of the wives was going thru chemo. I boosted our immune system with broccoli coconut oil vitamin c apple blueberries and we felt slighty bad but after three doys we felt better and noses stopped itching. etc
Ask the doctors etc information about the shot they will all deny it. A few off the record said they had complaints and cellulitis where the shot was given.

Take a bunch of Vit. D3 and keep some good Elderberry Elixir on hand. Oil of Oregano mixed with the Elderberry has been proven in clinical studies in both Germany and Israel to be super effective against the swine flu variants.
