Good riddance indeed!! It was a terrible year for us, financially due to business. Hoping no bullets come down through the roof tonight, the idiots are shooting instead of fireworks...

Actually, I'm saying goodbye to an epically bad decade. 2011 was actually OK for me,(as things didn't get any worse) but the last 10 years in total have been a catastrophe for me. Things went to hell for me in 2001 and went downhill from there. Please God, give me one good decade and kill me before it ends.

You must live in Redneckville to.I have never seen a Redneck who could not IMPROVISE.If its Noise you want,Then its noise you gunna get.Bullets just happen to be in the equation,we ain't rocket scientist you know

Didn't say RN improvising won't dangerous, but what Redneck worth his/her salt is afraid of danger?NONE.If it ain't dangerous, it ain't a challenge, and if it ain't a challenge, it ain't fun.

I remember back a few years ago when almost every Redneck male juvenile you saw had a pocket full of M-80's, or either a faded out box of them on the dashboard of his pickup truck.Like the Travelers Check logo, you didn't leave home withoutem.

Reason being, you won't about to be caught in the presence of a purty girl without them. The thing is most of us were to shy to talk much anyway, and the purtyer she was, the fewer words we could squeeze out,..Thats where the M-80's come in,we let them do our talking for us.

There we are standing there in silence, and its our turn to talk, and nothing will come out.(A pure idiot she must be thinking)Then we reach in our pocket, or run to the truck to get it, and bring out an M-80 and say watch this,as we are fumbling around checking every pocket for a box of matches, and just before she walks off,we hit the watch pocket and there they are.

(Now we are questioning our own idiocracy about the watch pocket)then we strack one, and hold it to that green fuse till it starts sparkling.

Now its like a ping pong game as our eyes go back and forth, back and forth from her expression back to how much fuse we got left, and back to how big her eyes will get,if the fuse holds out.

Now we are in the short rows with the fuse, and satisfied her eyes ain't gunna be getting no bigger,or at least hoping they won't,we letter fly, and it goes off at two foot into its trip.

After a quick undetected finger analyses,we immediately check her expression, and hoping for a smile, even when it could be possible that the reason for the smile, is she is no longer in danger, but its also possible that she just got swept off her feet from the bravest guy she will ever meet,ME ,but only time will tell, and we still got a good supply of M-80's left.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY lol eb

Good story, EB!

For years and years I'd sigh "next year HAS to be better". That would jinx it for me. Nowadays I just. . . . go to sleep on New Year's Eve.

The ends of 2010 and 2011 have been so bad I'm almost afraid of the next one.

My 2011 was pretty good, but for those that it was not, I hope 2012, is much better, for you.

Don't give up.

I don't think 2012 could get worse than 2011. At least I know I can't loose my DH again this year. But God gave me strength to face every trial of last year, and I expect He will do the same for this year. I'm officially moved into my 'new to me' house, and looking at a mountain of boxes to unpack - but also a mountain of new possibilities.

You mean everyone doesn't shoot off guns. That's what is always done around here. We got a surprise last night when the new neighbors shot off fireworks. And I mean he shot off good ones. It was better than the 4th of July. He must have spent beaucoup money on them. We had front window seats too. No one has ever done that on this mountain.

Tinknal pretty much said it for me too. And I hope the same thing ..... well with the exception of the kill me before it ends part.

My family has always had this "thing" about the number eleven. And 2011 was no exception. I lost my mom in October and my dad in November. Goodbye 2011.

Ditto. Bad year 2011. Now, according to the 2012 nuts, we have 354 days before 12-21 when the world ends LOL.

I'm conflicted. 2011 was tough for us financially, but I know we're better off than lots of other folk.

We moved to our new home in early October and we love it here. That was a real blessing.
