Anybody Know What Its Called??
It looks like octagon mesh chicken wire that's embedded in flexible clear plastic.Im not talking about wire thats dipped in plastic that the wind and rain can pass through.
Whats it called?
I would like to find some to make some easy row covers to protect garden plants,if it gets extremely cold. thanks eb

Warp's Plastic has some mesh imbedded plastics but I don't recall ever seeing it with the chicken wire design.
This particular one has aluminum mesh, another have fiber.

I hope this helps-I have used a similar material to enclose scaffold work areas in the winter . We would run torpedo heaters inside, and lay brick and block when it was below freezing. Very heavy -duty material. http://www.e-tarps.com/category.cfm?Category=562

Think I remember a product like that we used for window coverings on the chicken house and barn in the winter. It came in rolls, maybe 3 or 4 ft wide. Can't remember the name for it tho.
edit: I googled "hex net", that got me to some net wire that looked similar but couldn't find any with the solid material on it. Try hex net poultry netting.

Yep thats what I am talking about. You can bend it into a V shape and place over garden rows to protect plants, leaving the ends open for air circulation.
I have Remay row cover material, but it doesn't let enough sunshine in and I have to keep removing it.This clear plastic covered hex wire will let 100 % sunlight inside.
I did find a name for it in an old gardening book, its called"Instant Plant Cover".However a web search can't find it.
Windy,,that alum screen would work if it was strong enough to bend and hold its shape.
Thanks Everybody If I find any I'll let you know.eb

We called it Warps Plexiglass. As stated before, it came in rolls, was sort of hex wire, dipped, or covered with transparent plastic. Lasted a couple of years as chicken house window covering until the plastic disintegrated--then was good as a screen in the summertime to keep out the owls and skunks at night.
