Santa Claus left me a 2012 Mustang 5.0 GT !

.................I spose the World will blow itself up , but Santa left me a 2012 Mustang 5.0(302) GT at my doorstep ! Solid black , 6 speed manual , 412 Hp , it is a very quick little car . And , it actually gets better fuel milage than my 2008 Ranger 2.3 , 4 cylinder did ! Really hard to believe but that's what it said on the window sticker . I guess I was looking to add a little excitement to my otherwise Mundane lifestyle so this should qualify ! Doesn't have a thing to do with homesteading , but I thought I'd toot my old horn anyways . I've always loved manual transmissions so that is what makes this little car fun to drive . Thanks for listening folks , I hope I didn't bore anyone ! , fordy

Fordy, you must have something on Old Santa. Was it those elves, or was it those reindeer that are willing to take the stand and spill the beans, thus putting Old Santa outa business and in the unemployment line??

No matter whether their testimonies were true or not,Herman Ca,,I mean Santa Clause is history, lol

Hope you enjoy your new car,and early Christmas present.Don't get caught with the petal to the medal

I do not believe that I know the same Santa that you know....

How do I get in touch with that Santa?

I have it on good authority that the only thing Santa is bringing me this year is a $50 gift card to a homesteading type site.

I would sure like to wake up to a 2012 Mustang 5.0 GT in my driveway!

(I don't have to confess that I would trade it in for a full size truck do I? )

Old guys have money to buy hot cars and the sense not to wreck them.

You must have been very good this year!!

Sounds like a fun ride. Find the right stretch of road and see what zero to 100 feels like. Woo hoo!

Wow!!!!

Nice ride!!!!! You must have been extra good this year.

If you talk to Santa, please ask him to bring me a Mustang too. If he is all out of those, ask him to leave me a new Camaro (any color), or a Cadillac CTS in black.

Congrats!!!! Enjoy it!!!!

How many calves can you haul in the back seat? Does the back seat fold down so you can haul lumber or long handled garden tools?

Just joshing ya. Sounds like a fun car enjoy. Merry Christmas!!

..................Thanks for all the friendly responses ! Just too explain a little Mo'.....The 5.0 (302 cu.inches) is the same engine Ford put into the old Boss 302 Mustangs of the late 60's and early 1970's ! For 2012 there is the base Mustang V6 rated at 305 Hp , next up is the 5.0 GT rated at 412 Hp , THEN , There are several different models of THE New Boss with the Basic Boss 302 rated at 440 Hp , and atleast 2 more models equipped with various Hi dollar options that use to only come on Ferrari's and such .
..................THEN, there is the Super Charged Carol Shelby COBRA model rated at 555 Hp which will set you back ~~ $58,000 or more . This has the 5.4 liter V8 but it is only available in the Cobra . Personally , I'd much rather have the 5.0 302 Cu Inch V8 that any other engine .
...................When I was a poor kid just out of HS I wandered into a Ford Dship and perused a New ....High Performance Mustang convertable , 289 cu. inch and 289 Hp. , came with a big 4 barrel carb , solid lifters , and a 4 speed tranny . From that day too this , I've wanted a Mustang with a Hi Performance V8 , and by waiting 40 something years I got 2 extra gears and a lot more Hp and MUCH better quality mfging too boot ! Thanks to everyone for your kind responses and I realize I'm a little crazy , Maybe , lol !? , Thanks , fordy

Biggest problem I got with Mustangs is getting in and out of em, and sittin in em. Seat is too low to the floor. A friend has one, seems a bit more uncomfortable to me than those 6o's and 70s models did then.
Enjoy the heck out of it and warn me if you are coming down 287 so I can get out of your way.

I wouldnt put too much stock into inflated horsepower number claims of modern cars, those claims are usually based on theoretical limit of engine screaming at the upper end of rpm range they are capable of without grenading. Not exactly how average driver drives on public roads.

however, no doubt this thing will have more horsepower per pound than most cars and keep you well entertained for a while if you dont collect too many speed tickets.
