Slow flowing sewer.

We have a system that has VERY LITTLE SLOPE, It is trenched through the peak of a hill, it has good slope for 50 feet it runs under the trailer, then the access plug and a VERY low grade about 100 ft to the holding tank.

It is slowing down 1/3 rd of the pipe has water in it at the access plug. It seems to flow just fine at the outlet pipe.

What kind of maintenance can I do to keep this pipe clear? Any chemical treatments?

Very little slope is not a problem. 1/4" per foot is actually good. Skip the chemical treatments, rent a power snake for a day, and snake it out. You either have fats, roots, crud, or all of the above. EASY job if you catch it soon enough.

What harry said. Too much slope allows the water to run away from the waste, leaving it behind.

This is what you need, or a commercial jetter from the local plumber. Unless you have tree roots in the line, then you need a root cutter on the end of the jetter. A plumber can jet it and camera the line to see the problem. May have a belly in the pipe, it will show where....James

I would suggest not skimping on household water use in order to keep the line flushed. Flushing an extra time or two during the day wouldn't hurt anything. Occasionally filling the bathtub and draining it all at once would be another way.

Most black sewage should simply be washed away by the gray water.
