I didn't feel it but the dogs went to barking and came in. I was wondering what was wrong.

I'm between Kellyville and Bristow and felt it really strong here, way worse than last night. My whole house was shaking, lights were swinging, stuff was moving around and falling over.

It sounded like a huge freight train too, almost like when a tornado is right on top of you, and that went on for a few minutes after the shaking stopped, only trailing off. The actual shaking lasted for around a minute I think. Whew! We had another thread already open from yesterday that a bunch of us were talking on.

It's apparently due to the Wilzetta fault, which runs from Pottawottamie county (sp?) through the tip of Lincoln county and into western Creek county. I'm in the middle of Creek county, lol. They narrowed the epicenter down to Sparks, in Lincoln County. Different places rated it different, but I think they finally decided on 5.6, the biggest quake Oklahoma has ever had!

Hope everyone's safe and no damage done! I think I'm going to chance going to bed, though I'm nervous, being here all alone. Have to admit it, this one shook me up!

I was reading there has been some minor damage around. Chimneys falling in, things like that.
And if it does stay at the 5.6 that is the strongest ever in OK.

I was asleep and it woke me up. Dont know how long it was happening before I woke but i have the feeling it woke me right up. I was dreaming of makeing whoopie at the time and the bed shakeing fell in line with that lol. Sounded like a low rumble. Didnt feel bad at all, Maybe lasted for 15 secs, maybe longer.

A friend of mine an hour east of St. Louis said that her dresser was shaking and rattling all of her perfume bottles.

We're here in the middle of Missouri and my DD and I felt and heard the house shaking last night while watching Doctor Who. Slept through the first one though, just waiting to see if the New Madrid goes next.

Glad everyone is safe...Please stay vigilant and make sure that your preps are close at hand. You might even want to put a few extra preps in your vehicle, just in case.

Here is a link to a thread from the Survival & Emergency Preparedness Forum about earthquake preparedness. Lots of good advice here from those of us that live in earthquake prone areas. Tune us up on earthquake preparedness...

Someone told us something about fracking yesterday,I don't know much about that.

We're in SW Missouri,I was lying in bed about that time reading a book
with our beagle sleeping at the foot of the bed.

I felt the bed shake a bit,but I thought it was the dog as she was having a dream at the time also and jerking around.

Interesting, guess I felt my first tremor!

We are central MO and slept through it. Sister in law in Sapulpa said it woke them all up and had the lights swinging. In-laws in Garnett, KS woke up too.
