Outdoor washing machine... winter coming...

Will this be a problem in freezing temps? Doesn't some of the water stay inside it somewhere (maybe in a pump?) even after the load is through cycling?

I could bring it into the (kinda warm) barn but would have to rig up some kinda plumbing/draining system for it.

You could use some "RV" antifreeze if you're not going to be using it.

If you ARE going to use it, maybe a light bulb near the pump would work

Does it actually pump the water out, or is it just a gravity drain?

Yes there is water everywhere. In valves, in the pump itself, and even left in hoses leading to those items, and even after the pump, as it never completely drains out 100% of the water from the tub even after spinning. The hoses still have water in them.
The only way you could anti-freeze the entire systems have a hose in the RV antifreeze jug, and turn it on sucking some in, then pouring the rest in the tub then on rinse to get the stuff through all the hoses and valves.
Best to take it inside somewhere where the temp does not get below 32.

Bring it in or you'll lose it due to freezing water in it, pumps, hoses, etc.

We had a washer out on a porch once and it froze up and ruined. There was not water in the tub and at the time I was young and stupid and did not think about the pump, etc. The repair man said water stays in some parts.

Move it to your barn! Or stop using it for winter and still move it inside barn.

Pickle it w/RV antifreeze. Then tell all in the household to wash things out by hand. They may want to learn to wear things in side out, too. Then when spring comes take up where you left off.

Thanks, everyone. I will put it in the barn; as I have heat sources there. I will have to wash the clothes in there, and rig up a way to run the drain water outside. Thanks again!
