No advice, but you did a great job limping. I had to crawl when it happened to me.

ohhhhhhhhhhhh ouch! Two Naproxin every 12 hours and plenty of rest. I know it's hard to stay off it but if you can do as little as possible, it should heal faster.

I had the very same thing a couple of weeks ago. Thought I was going to die. It was very painful. The only thing I was told to do was rest it......yeah, right.....

Ice on and off for 24 plus hours
Heat on and off after 48 hours.

Whatever you were doing, don't do that any more. At least the same way.

Sometimes it helps me if I can lay flat on the floor for a while, no pillows and try to relax.

Absolutely NSAIDs like Ibuprofen, more for the anti-inflammatory than the pain relief. Sometimes, if you are lucky, a chiropractor or acupuncturist can help. In cases where that doesn't work, a good dose of scotch can pass the time...

I know the NSAID's work, but not really nice to your kidneys, etc.

I've had really good luck with spine and hip problems by slowly rolling over a giant yoga ball. The small ones are too small to really stretch everything out. I visualize my spine as I roll over the ball to judge the amount of stretch. When you get to the point that feels like it needs the most stretch try to relax and allow your spine to 'unbunch'....and remember to breathe.

Reflexology is also helpful. The part of the foot that corresponds to the spine is the arch of the foot. The base of the spine is closest to the heel and the top of the spine is closest to the ball of the foot. If you work slowly down the side/arch of your foot with your thumb you will find sore spots that correspond with that area of your spine. When you find a sore place apply gentle pressure and knead it a bit. Don't overdo it and come back to that spot later and work it some more. Hope you feel better soon!

Hot tub... plenty of bourbon and absolutely NO running of vacuum cleaners, sweeping or anything on a honey do list for six months. Doing dishes could be fatal. At least thats what the doc told my wife when I had a similar problem.

Anti-inflammatory meds, arthritis rubs, gentle massage, hot as you can stand heating pad. It can take a couple days before the anti-inflammatory starts to work.

I feel for you. Mine went bad on me one day at work. Still had to finish the job. Took a couple weeks before it loosened back up.
