I buy raw milk locally. This is the very reason I went back to raw. Not to mention the flavor difference.

25 yrs ago I studied animal and human nutrition at an ag school. Even at that time, scientists were concerned about homogenization b/c in this process the fat globules become uniform in size, and tiny enough to pass thru the intestinal walls, instead of being mostly excreted due to their large irregular shapes. We read pathology reports from the autopsies of young soldiers who died in Vietnam (18-20), whose arteries were already clogged. This is another concern, not raised in the OP's article. ldc

I stopped drinking milk over 30 years ago. Once in a while I'd have a glass, then wish I hadn't. Now that I buy fresh milk from a neighbor, I can drink it like water. What a difference there is between raw and processed!

We went camping last week, and I bought a half gallon of organic milk along the way. I wish I'd had a camera when my poor husband took a swig at breakfast - and promptly spit it out cartoon style. It's been awhile since he drank "store milk". This was supposed to be "good milk", ha ha.

I got out of dairy goats and decided to buy my milk from the local farm. Direct from the bulk tank - nice fresh milk from Holstein cows for $2.00 / gallon.
About a month ago, the farmers sold all of their cows and got out of the dairy business. Luckily we have another local farm and so now I buy milk there. Nice fresh milk from Jersey cows - again for $2.00 / gallon.
If that farmer decides to get out of business, apparently I'll have to get some milk goats, because I won't drink that stuff they call "milk" in the stores!

I get a kick out of our daughter, if we go out to eat, the waitress will ask her if she would like milk to drink , and she will say "yuck, store bought milk" . The waitress doesn`t know what to say. > Marc

Same with our two grandkids locally. They went from being breast fed to raw goats milk and they pretty much puke at the sight/smell of store bought milk (literally)!

As a kid, I always drank raw milk. When I would drink "whole milk", it was like water. And ours had a few inches of cream on top....yummmm!

Although our ND's don't give as much milk as the standard size, they've got a high butterfat content. Not only does store bought milk smell bad to us now, but it looks SO watery!
