I've read threads about these stoves before . From what I understand it's an electric heater & isn't any more economical than any other electric heater . I think the Amish build a nice cabinet that it fits in & they're pretty expensive .

Correct it is nothing but a 1500 Watt heater. Pure and Simple.
and ALL 120 v heaters are 1500 Watts on there highest setting.
And 1500 watts IS 1500 watts no matter what kind of box it is in.
Way over priced, and does nothing more then a say 30 dollar space heater will do.

My Dad has Eden Pure air purifiers in his house but they are absolute junk and only last a short while. I don't know why he keeps replacing them, with the same model, each time they die. *shrug* I don't know how the quality is with their heaters though.

Mom and Pop store that sells them let us "test drive" one overnight to see if we liked it. Took it back the next day. Any space heater we've had from Wal-Mart (or anywhere else) was better.

My mom bought me 2 of the Eden Pure's for the unheated upstairs of my house. This was after the regular space heater I had caught fire in the kids room.

If I could find cheaper heaters that were guaranteed not to catch fire, I would use them. Until then I'll stick with the EP's. I even went upstairs one time and one of the kids had thrown a quilt over one of them. I have no idea how long it was on there and the only thing that happened was the front melted a little bit.

One quit working last year but the other one's still going after 5 years(hope I didn't just jinx myself).

A friend of mine bought one of the Amish heaters that looks like a fireplace and didn't like it at all and replaced it within a couple of months with an EP.
