It is confusing that is for sure. I do what I can but I learned that in contacting the state medicaid dept and asking them for an advisor for medicare plans they passed me on to a person in the Senior cit-disabled dept and I did get a contact that really helped me pick the plan. The person was very educated and needed every drug -strenght, type and quanity. I found out that the guy went around to Senior Cit. centers and worked in --home care dept. Hope that this gives you a lead.

Do you have Independent Insurance Agents?
That is who I went through when I was starting out with Medicare.
There are so many options, You have to list your meds, and then see what company will honor them, and at what price.
Right now I have Humana and have been with them for 3 years and it looks like I will stay with them for this coming year as well.
As I just switched and am getting ALL my meds from mail order, and being all are Generic, there will be NO CHARGE for them None.~

I am only paying $2.50 for a 30 day supply for each now I will get 90 days for NO Cost.
So Many Many Factors you have to take into consideration when choosing a Supplemental coverage for Medicare.
And I am low enough in income that Humana even helps me pay the monthly premium.~!
So Right Now I can't see any other company do as good as Humana is doing for ME.
Your coverage and the way you set it up is ALL UP TO YOU.

Humana is a Medicare Advantage Program, which you only show your Humana Card NOT your medicare card when seeing any doctor etc.
And the last time I checked Humana is good for 98% of the hospitals and clinics throughout the country.
So at the very start I went to a Independent Insurance agent, then have gone with Humana.
Over the past 7 years I have switched insurance carriers 3 times.
That is the Good Part of getting onto Medicare, If not satisfied with what you have you sure can Switch in one years time, at the renewal time.
That way you are not tied into ANY ONE Company Read, Search, and Study them all and compare drug coverage and costs.
Good luck.
