netflix question for rural route mailboxes

Went to change my address on my netflix account and it wouldn't accept a Rt, RR, or rural route? Our old address was an HC and they had no problem with it. My question is what should I use?

The address the post office recognizes as your official delivery address. If there is a problem with that call Netflix support.---or just wait and drop service because of the price hike.

When we moved to our land, I called Netflix & they manually updated my address. Had movies here within 2 days.

I thought the entire country had gone to the E911 address system and am assuming NetFlix must think that as well.

Are there others reading this who do not have an E911 address?

CF- the mapping for 911 will begin here sometime this winter. Our county just passed the 911 fee last year..... We're so far back in the brush we have to pipe in sunlight.

The E911 address for us is totally wrong. It puts our house about a mile and a half from where we really are. I've talked with the town about this but no change. They assigned us that number and that's that. They don't seem to care that the mapping programs show us being somewhere else.

It doesn't really matter thought. E911 wouldn't get to us fast enough to matter. If we have a crisis we will have to drive out. E911 is for town folk.

We had to get an e-911 address for when we bought our land, but t is useless. Anytime I need to use our address for anything the RR is what people know. Phone company can't find us with e911. Neither can ups! We went to get a mailbox & post office said if there wasn't a mailbox within a half of a mile they wouldn't deliver mail to us!!!! The joys of country life.

You have to use your 911 address. Back when Bush formed the DHS every house in the nation was given a 911 address to prevent terrorism??????

Us too.
It's pointless anyway.
The PO technically uses it as our address, but they really just know where our box is. Emergency services wouldn't be sent via 911 address anyway, it'd be "The so-and-so place."

However, if Netflix can't take a RR, can you just call it an HC?
When we lived on an HC, half of our mail came address to RR instead...

Erin I kind of tried that one by inputting HCRt 1 and netflix kickes that one out. As to Bush and his 911 foolishness, this was a 40 acre timbered tract when he was office.... As I said earlier, this county just awarded a contract to'map this county for 911 addresses. THERE ARE NO 911 addresses outside of incorporated city limits (and not even all city limits a signed 911 addresses. I'll call netflix tomorrow and work something out with them. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions everyone.

I know a few years ago, they changed ALL the fir numbers. Not only the numbers changed but the color was also changed.
The reason I was given was it was because of 911.
No big deal.
And NO, I am not going to post the name of the president like some have on here, when I post about 911.
No need at all to do that.

This is a dumb question, but what on earth does HC stand for?

We just have rural routes around here.

HC is "highway contract" which has never made a whole lot of sense to me since the only places we had HCs were nowhere near pavement. lol

I think Rural Routes might be actual postal employees, whereas Highway Contracts are definitely non-employees who bid out to the postal service. Anyone can do a HC.
But that's just my guess. It's been a decade or two since i lived anywhere with a RR...

Thanks, Erin. I've been wondering that for years.
