Oh Hap Hap

Happy day. Thank the Lord, it's raining it's pouring, the first drops that have fallen here since the third week in June.

There has been rain all around us, within 3-4 miles in any direction, there have been good rains. But on our place not a drip or drop, and it was desperately needed, my pasture is just about gone.

Down here at 65231, we only got .14" today but have had larger showers earlier in the month. Still very dry.

When we lived near KC MO, a little town in Kansas called Tonganoxie always seemed to be the "split." In fact, it was called the Tonganoxie split. If a rain shower turned north at Tonganoxie, we got rain. If it turned right, the rain went south and we got nothing. I guess Callaway County is also a split point.

I guess you live pretty close to us in 63384. I don't think we have seen water fall from the sky since late June either until this week. There was a brief shower Tuesday around lunchtime. It seems like everything is splitting up and going all the way around us. We got a good shower this afternoon for about 45 minutes and hope to see more on the way.

Just looked up 63384. Yep, probably no more than 20-25 miles. I used to go to an Amish owned sawmill only a few miles north of you and buy scraps from a pallet milling operation for our woodstove when DH's back was giving him so much trouble. Some really pretty houses/yards through there.
