Workboots N Pickup trucks thread
If you have any faves, id love to see picks. I love the old ford f 100. Also im loving redwing 875s. The ox blood color is great. Im so impressed with redwing leather. I have a few filson boots, but the leather in redwings is second to none.

Red Wings are well made but just aren't comfortable on my feet. Love my Justin work boots though. I like their 8" lacers and the 11" slip-on Stampede boots.

My boots are Canadian Army Mark 3 surplus, size 14W. Only boots I've ever found that fit. $60 at the surplus store up the road but if you go Sunday when the owner is still stoned and hungover from the night before, you can talk her down to $30.
Late 70s GM 2500.
Anything else cheap, driving a 99 Dodge now. Gets me there.

46 IH is great, i love then. Then all you need is the yellow lab, a bamboo flyrod, redwings, stormy cromer hat and a great orvis flannel, with a 1972 rolex gmt....ahhhh the simple life.

I ran backcountry trail crews in Alaska for years and nothing held up like Redwing work boots. I am talking hard labor in all kinds of weather conditions. I had them restitched once in 6 years, never re-soled. I had crew members shell out hundreds of bucks on custom made Whites as well, and they were great, but for the additional $300 or so I did not think they were that much better than my redwings!

I've always had Fords- the older the better, or pretty much any truck from the '60's and back. I currently have a pair of Carolina Loggers that I really like.

I suppose my favorite pair of boots are my old Red Wing Irish Setter boots. They are over 35 years old and still fit like a glove. I wear these boots specifically for grouse hunting or any long distance hiking.
My everday boot is the Cabela's Outfitter Series boot. These boots come in a variety of heights (7", 9", 10", 11" and 12"), uninsulated or insulated (200 to 1200 grams thinsulate), wide widths, and mens and womens models.
I do not own tennis shoes, sandals, or even casual shoes (I do own a pair of black dress shoes, however). Consequently, I wear these boots for 12 hours or more everyday of the week - to work, to church, visiting, dinner out, etc. These boots are my everyday footwear, so they have to be comfortable and made to last.
The photo below shows my everyday footwear for the past 12 or so years. Every pair of boots are identical expect for their age.
As far as trucks go, we already have two. I'd rather have a vintage military Willys Jeep.

I asked for a pair of Wolverine Steel toe slip ons for Christmas 3-4 years ago. They were sold at a boot shop, not a box store, and were well over $100. I wear them a lot around the farm, and the exteriors have held up well, but the linings on the inside are plastic and fabric and have cracked/torn. I expected better. Perhaps a 100% leather interior would hold up better. Maybe I will try Justins next. Or even the cheap Brahmas...
