ATV & Lawn mower

Well, x decided to come and get "his" ATV & riding lawnmower ( that i agreed to let him have in the big D) .... since he lives in town and "Needs" it sooooo bad, anyway.... I need to find a new/ used ATV and Riding lawn mower. It was a Artic Cat ATV but not sure of the size of the motor, or what size i need to pull my brush hog?? What should i be looking for?

..... the lawn mower, well i had a Craftsman and i never had a problem with it in the 8 years that i owned it. Any Recomendations or what to stay away from ?

I've had a Polaris Sportsman 500 and a Cub Cadet LT 1050 for years. No complaints.

My experience only, but when I bought a Cub Cadet 10 or so years ago, it worked great for 2 years and then became the lawn mower from . . . . well, you know! I will NEVER EVER own another Cub Cadet!

We bought a Mahindra small tractor with bucket and couldn't be happier.

I love my bad boy zero turn. THough they are more pricey than the disposable mowers form the home stores. But if I can not break the thing in 7 years it can not be broken. That is about all I can say. Many of my friends have purchased them since I bought mine for that very reason. You did not mention a budget, but if you can swing it a ranger or gator would be far more useful than a standard atv. Polaris doesnt have the most reliable rep in the industry, but all of mine have served me pretty well.

stay away from artic cat and Polaris.. artic cats have very weak frames. and polaris arent reliable(they both use a belt drive) i would stick with honda or yamaha. and as far as lawnmowers. stick with hustler, exmark, gravely.

You could always get an ATV and make your own riding lawmower out of it and a couple of old push mowers. All you need is a little duct tape and bailing wire. I made mine with a day-long beverage carrier.

Why do you need both? I have a 19 HP kuboto 4X4 with a bucket, pulls my brush hog fine, doubles as a lawnmower. What can't be done with that I do with a push mower.

We wouldn't be without our Yamaha 4x4 Wolverine ATV or our Troybilt riding mower.

i wouldnt buy any lawnmower that homedepot or lowes has outfront.. for 2 reasons. 90% are junk. and when something goes bad they dont stock parts or have a mechanic.

Houndlover- how much was your kuboto19hp? i have been thinking about getting a tractor, but i need one with a PTO and heavey enough to do hay...

I thin i found a Polaris 700, that a friend of mine had- it was only use once or twice a year by his wife so has really low miles on it, plus he is giving me a deal... It was really hard to find many yamahas or hondas around here- i guess those that get them must keep them?!?
