It's the heat and humidity, this has been the 4th hottest day this year.

It's Sunday. That means it's a "Day of rest" for me. Went to Church and then picked up some Little Caesers so I wouldn't have to heat up the house for lunch. Tonight's dinner is what one of the kids is volunteering to make. I have a few kids who adore cooking and since they don't see it as "work" they can do it. I view cooking as "work" so I try to avoid it on Sundays. I might do laundry all day if I want as I like doing laundry, but cooking? NO WAY!

Been busy for us for a Sunday
Fixed some fence, loaded horses and moved them to the other place where the grass is more plentiful, drove home, loaded up some water and a tank, drove back to the other place, filled the tank, looked for horses, no luck, went to town for a few groceries, drove back to the other place, saw horses in the distance, went home, loaded up fencing stiff on the 4 wheelers, went back to the other place, got horses in, fixed fence...now I'm taking a break.

Sorry I wasn't on earlier to round that up to 2,400.

You asked---Are we all taking it easy today

Have to move at the three toed sloth pace today here as it is currently 111º. 16% humidity and 20 mph breeze make it only feel like 110º though.

Even here in the NW, it's hot enough to need frequent breaks. I am on a mission to get all my lawns mowed - it will be the first time everything gets done as the same time.

Today was just brutal with the humidity. It was only 78 but felt like 95 and not a breath of wind. I had a chicken shelter that had to get built so I kept drinking lots of water and wetting my tee shirt. I finally finished about 2 and then had some lunch.

After a rest I went swimming with my part dog part muskrat. Boy can she swim. We swam at least 1/2 mile. She beat me back to the dock and then ran out to the end to look for me. I caught her attention from a couple hundred yards away and she came flying off the dock and swam out to meet me.

I just came in from doing evening chores. It's only 90 degrees right now, but with 69 percent humidity the heat index is 102. Sure glad I was on HT at 3:28 p.m. taking it easy as it was 97 degrees out, which made me to scared to check the heat index! LOL...

I've been online off and on since I finished lawn mowing early this morning. Too hot to do much else mid day. I stayed inside and balanced checking accounts, then ran to the feed store and grocery store. Still have shavings bales in the back of the truck to unload tomorrow morning when it's cool. Thought about vacuuming, but that's as far as I got.

Only about 84 here which is up there for this area. I still have an evening full of chores to do, only 6:30 here. Today was spent dispatching of a few rabbits, turkeys, chickens and geese. I'm making breakfast links for the customers (their choice of flavor) this week.

After I'm done with this cold one I'll be back at it. HT is my favorite "break room".

It's been hot enough to boil a monkey's bum!

We did our best to take it easy, but some things just had to happen today.

I did get to relax and ride the lawn mower. That's not work for me: that's FUN!

Real hot here today, very high humidity. But, we HAD to get some things done. Getting ready to make a road trip to Ozark Jewels' place to pick up a Jersey heifer!

I spent Sunday mowing, sawing limbs, taking soil and worm core samples, sweating as if I was swimming, drinking bottles of tap water and coming in to cool off every 45 minutes for a half hour or so. The thermometers in the shade were close to 100 before the thunderstorms hit in the evening and I showered and went to bed for a few hours.

Safe travels!

Give Em an air hug for me when you see her (it's too warm for a close up and personal hug!)

I started to cut fire wood at 4 AM yesterday and finished at 10 AM as it got to hot. I always check out HT just to see what is happening.
