Carports and greenhouses

I also put this in the gardening thread and thought to post here too.

Recently we were given a heavy duty free standing carport frame made of metal. I have decided to turn it onto a greenhouse since it is about a 12 foot by 20 foot in size.
Has anyone hear done something similar? I have googled the question and came back to an old thread here dating back a few years but no pictures.

Does anyone have any suggestions

Thanks

Our former neighbor did exactly that. He just added wood braces to the frame and framed in the ends...one with a doorway. Covered it all in greenhouse plastic and it lasted 2 or 3 years before he needed to replace the plastic due to a huge windstorm.
Go for it! He grew TONS of stuff in there.

Sounds like a great idea! Visqueen would be the least expensive but UV will cause it to break down in a couple of years. If you could figure out how to use fiberglass greenhouse panels, it would last longer

And please post pictures if you do!

I can't see it NOT working, as people make greenhouses out of PVC pipe and electrical conduit all the time, and they work fine.

I'd say maybe try it out the first year with just some cheap plastic, see how that works before you drop any money on some good, long-lasting greenhouse plastic.
