canned milk life

We just found some evaporated milk about a month out of "best used by" date. What is the shelf life?

Canned goods can be safe way past the "use by" dates as long as the can isn't rusty, dented or bulging.

Best used by is a conservative date by the packer as to when the product will decline in nutritional value or quality, not an indication that the product is ow spoiled. The canned goods will be safe for a long time as long as they are well-stored. Discard w/o tasting anything that is dented, rusty, has been frozen, or spurts whe you open. I always listen for the seal to release when I open canned goods. You can almost always here the air being sucked in.

That still begs the question; How long past the 'printed' date
a year . . ??
couple years . . ??
more . . ??
