When the thread came out of Dogs attacking in Washington. I knew I had some old Mennonite material that addressed this so here it is.

I'd think you'd have to have quite a dog problem to go to that much work. I'd think you could come up with something much simpler. A simple one one way door could be rigged using fiberglass electric fence post attached horizontally and inter weaved in a V shape. Dog forces his way in then can't get out.

That is pretty clever. As the article said, it's for a pretty bad dog problem. And you could use it for confining good dogs who may need confining for a while, or as a jug or something else.

That is so but this is how it was done at one time. I lived through 50 pigs being killed as a teenager. We were one of the lucky ones. The problem is that what may be thought as simple just doesn't work all the time. People were sitting up all night setting all types of traps baiting with poison. What worked was my Brother in law peeing in one spot for two weeks. Then he sat there and the dog didn't notice him because he was use to it.
People were ruined by one feral dog that was too smart to get caught.
This is something that if you are being ruined it might be better than stuff being used that isn't working. this also captures the dog for Identification.

I built a giant live trap for my neighbor that was bothered by BIG racoons. Its big enough for a good sized German Shepherd.

My boys built a lot of traps when they were younger, mostly the box type with a trip wire and the door swings shut, copying the idea of a live trap. Usually used pallets nailed together. They caught lots of coyotes.
