I have been searching online for river /camping gear hardware to get ideas and saw the carabiners used for rock climbing . Some have a wire section that could be removed making them more c shaped. That might be perfect to hook around the oar and leave an end open for coats , towels or whatever.
I like it being in the theme or things that remind us all of my husband.
Also like the fact that the actual oar is the rack verses just putting the hooks below which makes the oar just decorative.
My husband was an outdoor recreation instructor and rafted most of his life .
He passed away in March from Leukemia and I am working hard to use some of his gear
around the house in fun/creative ways. Its keeping me sane right now to create memory things.
He has 2 huge galvanized dry boxes that were used on his rafting trips that are 6 ft long and 2 ft high.
We almost sold them years ago and I am so glad we didn't.
I am going to do a few things to convert one into a storage box for the end of he bed and the other into a bench seat for our deck.
