Most of the plants I know but in the second picture, what are the plants in the very center front? and to their left what do you have climbing the fence?

Yes we take pictures each year of the garden.

I am jealous of your squash, heat we think, killed most of ours, going to replant.

Wow! You are so much further ahead than me. My pole beans are barely up, tomatoes just getting there, squash are tiny, cabbage and broccoli did not fare great this year because of extreme heat then cold then heat and so on, carrots are doing great as are the potatoes. Onions need weeding badly, but my strawberries are doing nice. I only have a small garden this year, but may take photos if I get a chance. The neighboring pasture is very high and is on the pig rotation list to extend my garden for next year.

Yours looks great!

Beautiful garden pics! We just got our seeds planted 4 or 5 days ago so we are still waiting for things to pop up!

I don't have a vegetable garden due to deer and rabbits. I do have a perrenial flower garden about 60 feet long. I take close-up pictures of the day lilies and put in a stake with a number so I can identify them later. When I split them and plant them in other areas or give them to friends I know what they are. I have about 14 varieties of day lilies many of them are what a friend calls "designer day lilies" from hybredizers. Some are outrageously expensive but I received them as a gift from friends.

You garden pics are great and i know you will have a great yeild when everything comes to fruit. Thanks for sharing. NJ R

You are way ahead of us. My corn is 6" tall, beans are a foot tall, tomatoes are 3' tall and setting but I cheat and plant them in tree pots and move them in and out of the garage until frost is not a threat (May 15th or so) We have been gardening so long that we don't, my family never has been one to take pictures, We don't even have a camera. Nice looking garden you have....James

Great looking gardens. Ours is growing well (except for effects of the heat); but not nearly as well organized and pretty as I'ld like it.

Beautiful plants, I also cannot identify the plant on the right of the squash.

My squash has also mostly gone to squash heaven. Vine borer devil got them.

Thanks for the pretty pictures.

Nice gardens. Davel745, I like those raised beds.

Our average last frost date is June 15, so not too much outside yet. I have peas, broccoli, onions, spinach, lettuce and chard doing well. My potatoes are up, but I'm covering them at night (it's a 15 x 20 patch, so that's a fun job). A few green beans popped up today, so I'll be covering them for a few nights. Things in the greenhouse are doing well, I have a little electric oil heater in there, but it's coming out this week. I only use it to jump start things, it would cost too much to run through the winter.

Anyway, here are a few greenhouse pics from yesterday.

My little greenhouse is only 10 x 17, but it makes a world of difference with our short growing season.

Red Currant cherry tomatoes. This afternoon they are getting repotted and tomato stakes for support. The fruits are tiny but they grow so fast and have a wonderful flavor. I keep one or two in south windows in the house in the winter.

One of 4 beds of spinach and peas. I have a nice crop of volunteer cilantro coming up in this one, hard to see, it's still so little. The frost hasn't bothered it, so I'll be saving some seed for next year.

Broccoli, it needs weeding.

Thanks Chalk Creek the raised beds are expensive but we have 5 and are going to build more. They cost about $60.00 each to make we have been getting vegetables for 4 years now so they have more than paid for themselves. At our age 66 years it is so hard to bend over in a garden and weed and do stuff. Now we go out in the morning with the dogs and drink coffee and stand there and weed. The sides are 2 x 12 I had form form work and the bottoms are ½ inch plywood. I drilled holes through the plywood and lined the tub with filter cloth. They work great for us.

Everyone's gardens look so nice! Mine is just getting going, too, but those pictures make me think that in a month, something will be going on here, too.

Chalk Creek, do you use the greenhouse over the winter or just use it as a season extender?

Jennifer

I think you are referring to the potatoes (hilled with tons of mulch). And we have sugar peas climbing the fence (with cukes right behind them to take their place after the heat gets them). Also look for the blue berry bushes to the left of the squash...

Currently as a season extender. I start some things real early (mostly tomatoes), put them in there during the day and bring them in the house at night.

Distant left is the green house and our tomato and vegetable garden, the patch to the distant right is our corn patch and blackeyed peas that are just coming up.

And finally out other corn patch. We grow veggies, fruit, we have various berries, nut trees, flowers and we raise most of our own meat. This year we are also growing gourds to make bird houses.
