About half an inch long.

What is this insect? (pics) - Homesteading Questions

Seen tonight crawling on my front step.
Segmented like a roly-poly, but black and pointy on the butt end.

Any ideas?

We have the Cicadas too (brood XIII). We didnt know what they were but sure find them interesting and our bird feeding has paid off...weve been watching the birds pick them out of the sky.
