Wool Was Flying Today

Today was shearing day - finally. 35 sheep lost their wool today. Its amazing what wool covers in animals. About half a dozen needed worming as their body condition was definitely down - others are PIGS (dominant females mostly) in the feed trough. The PIGS will get penned together so they can compete for reduced rations and slim down. AHH - its nice to see what the animals really look like for a change.

I have 3 large plastic bags of California Red Fleece (about 4 fleeces per bag) that someone needs to come and claim. It can be had for FREE. I live in the Kerrville, TX area if you are interested. Please don't ask me about what the specifics of wool are - to me wool is a waste product - too expensive to process.

That per pound price is for processed roving, not raw fleece.
Wool weighs a lot less once it is washed and carded.

If I were closer, I would be right over to pick out one of your fleeces to try.
Surely some lucky person will take you up on them.
