Flat, tapered o-ring

I need to find a tapered, flat o-ring. I try googling that, but nothing. Probably 6-7 inches across.

I would try www.granger.com or www.gopherbearing.com . I can usually find what I need at one of them.

Metal, rubber, metric, ????? It would help to know what it's for. Pump, garbage disposal, car, cream separator? Brand name?

Yes, rubber. Probably an half inch thick, but I'm not sure. It will be for a cream separator, so food grade is preferred, but optional.

I'll admit my knowledge of cream separators is limited to knowing one when I see one. Got a brand name? Is it a Delaval? Is the o ring associated with the bowl?

Sounds like the type used in hydraulic cylinders . If you know a place that rebuilds them may have a loose one

Try "gasket" isntead of "O ring"

It is going to go in a McCormick Power Washer model 3F, but I'd like to find ones to fit 2F and 4F as well. It is for the bowl/centrifuge, yes. In theory, the o-ring/gasket expands from centrifugal force when separating, and then contracts. It's supposed to "clean itself".

Well, maybe, but that tapers to the bottom. While I am not precise on it, I made this rough drawing of what it will most likely look like:

Is this one of the gaskets with the embedded spring that expands or contracts depending on speed and allows the unit to self clean?

Doing a search found a person who may have some parts as of late last year. You'll have to send them a letter.

LOL, actually I am friends with that Amishman. He did say he had one, but I was trying to find a source of them, however it seems unlikely. Perhaps I could figure out how to mold them myself.

If that's the one I'm thinking about, you'll need the springs too.

This has a round o-ring. We might just try it with that first, and see how it goes.

The one you drew was just like the one in cylinders . The last ones i got were white neopream and 5'' inside . Place had hundreds of deferent sizes and would match to my old ones . He could mike them to a speck sheet too.
