What kind of spider is this? ( warning pic)

We found him in the corner by the front door. He is about the size of a walnut. He has green eyes and is very scary looking lol!

We had one of those in our front bathroom once, and it had just caught a fly. The kids watched it stick it's 'tooth' as our one son called it, into the fly to paralyze it, and then it hung it on it's web. A tiny bit gruesome but it was education in action I guess.

id too agree with jumper, they can give ya a nip but are none venemous and great little spiders to have in your house, jumpers actually HUNT their prey rather than only building webs and layng in wait lol.

Definitely a Bold Jumping Spider. We have a lot of those around our house. We just leave them alone b/c they keep brown recluses away by eating all the other bugs. The green things aren't eyes, but it's fangs. We have two hanging out on our windows right now. One is eating a moth.

One of ours:

They do have venom, but not like black widows, etc. I accidently stepped on one once, bit my toe... went numb for about 15 minutes, that was all.

I admire how casual you are "We have two hanging out..... One is eating a moth" LOL LOVE IT! Spiders send me into a tizzy.. as in up on my toes like a ballerina flipping out with goosbumps and usually lots of screaming. Very sad for a grown woman. The kids love it though. I can already hear my calm, level-headed children "ooh.. look at him.. isn't he cute?" "where's my shoe?" LOL

We do try not to kill unless warranted... but if one takes me by surprise.. I usually kill now and feel horrible later

Um, the size of a walnut is not classified as "little" to me

I used to be scared to death of spiders and would react just like you do. I have no idea how or when it changed, but I find them fascinating now. lol
