Grist Mill or ??

I was in a shop the other day and saw a few mills that the guy had. It had a hopper on top and a large, 24", hand wheel. When I looked into it I saw a conical shaped deal that rotated and had a slight helical profile.
I asked if it was used to crack corn and the guy said it was a grist mill.
My google skills did not reveal anything that looked like the one I saw.
So, what is it and what is it for?

If he knew what he was talking about and it's really a grist mill,it should be adjustable to crack corn or grind cornmeal.Did you notice a brand or numbers?

I didn't look for a name. He had three of these. I have it in my head to get something to crack corn and such. The guy made no effort to make a sell and I didn't know enough to know if it is what I need.
