Neighbor has one made from railroad cars. The video shows more of a barn on top of shipping containers. Since shipping containers are in the $2000-$3000 per containers
it might be a savings, but what is the cost of a pole barn in your area.

Thread is mis-titled...the barn doesn't appear to be "made" from containers....Looks more like a barn with it's own supports that just happens to have been built OVER two containers.....that they have nothing to do with the barn, per se, except as internal storage area. That might or might not be economical, depending on what you had to pay for the containers compared to simply building out rooms inside the barn.

And the last comment is a hoot "that's the steaming mountain of manure".....ahahahaaa.....they have manure piled up about 1/2way on the side of one container.....which should rust plumb thru the side wall in a few years.....so that one will be hauled BACK out down the road.

I looked into building a barn using 2 40' containers with 16' between them. It figuregured out to cost way omre than just doing a pole building of the same size.

The only advantage I could see was the secure storage while building the rest of the barn.

I still might get a container for storage but it won't be incorperated into the barn.

I do not see the point of that type of use of the containers and the building entirely over it, I would put the containers out side and use them as separate storage, you would add a lot of square footage to your storage, (I think I heard one had a hole in it, but why not fix the hole),

a person some miles away I saw had built a shed/barn out of two of them but he used the containers as the sides (and not sure now but think the only roof was over the middle section of the two containers, not over all of it, or if it was it was very low angle over the containers, (center was used for parking)

Shipping Container Barn

Here is a thread that has two shipping containers used as a barn.
I furnish Barn patterns on my Saw Mill and I worked up a nice barn using four containers. They were suggested to be spaced10feet apart on the ends and had a 20 foot center hall. If you have the access to them if does have merit.

I think that the containers do support the barn, except for the 8 feet or so portion in front.
