Lime Sulfur and Apricots?

Seems like I dimly remember these dont go together. Now. after its too late, I'm thinking I have read this somewhere--Anyone??

I'm confused on what you want to do. Lime is a base, sulfur is acidic, so they can work against each other in the soil, espec. if applied at the same time. Pickling lime and sulfured dried apricots seems like a contradiction from the get-go.

I sort of remember one of my great aunts talking about stringing green beans to dry and hanging them in a shed. They would then for a while burn sulfur in a pan on the floor of the shed. Letting the fumes do their stuff. This was to preserve them in the winter. I don't know all the details for sure. I was a boneheaded kid and only half listened.

If you are talking about a lime sulfur spray , you are correct. Lime-Sulfur sprays shouldn't be used on apricot trees. Here is some info:

edit: I do find some info that says it is ok to spray apricots when they are dormant, so maybe if that is what you did there won't be any harm.

Thanks, KS farmer,. Guess I didnt make it clear. It was lime sulfur spray i was speaking of, I had my trees sprayed for brown rot a few weeks ago, told them to spray all stone fruit, now, my apricot looks like its dying.

Bummer. You might do some searching for info on what the effect is on apricots. Maybe it will just lose leaves and any fruit set, but will leaf back out and be ok next year. Hopefully.
