Talking Why?

I see moderarors posting on all the sections but never the bee keeping section.
How come the bee keeping section does not have a moderator? And if it does why are they who ever they are never there?

Al

Just looked and there were 2 moderators present in the bee keeping forum. Chuck and Mike in Ohio.

Actually, I'm with Sawmill Jim on this one......
we police our own so well, that there is
rarely a need for a moderator there.

Shoot, I thought you were the de facto moderator.

Al,

I am there keeping an eye on things but view my role as moderator as just that... to moderate if there is a need. Fortunately the bee forum is not as unruly as some of the other forums. When I get a complaint or a question (as moderator) I deal with it.

To work bees, one has to be slow in movements, have a well thought process and gentile in general. Craftsmen take own the nature of their work after a while.

Actually, I think that that should be "none of their beeswax". I remember hearing "None of your beeswax!" when I was a kid and used it on my own kids later.

It's quite simple actually. Unlike most forums that have diverse viewers, those that enter the beehive down there are all equally armed with stingers. We may not always agree with each other but the phermone smell at least keeps us civil. Now let someone walk in and start spouting off about "only the moderators need to posess stingers" or some such nonsense and we'll all just smoke him

Talking

OK there is a moderator who is there.

How about making some of the post there stickies.

Like the Beltsville Maryland Bee Lab information.

So you think you want to bee a bee keeper.

The list of state bee keeping clubs.

The building of a hive top feeder with floats.

All the above will help first timers, some who have a problem and don't know where to turn and those who like to build their own equipment.

You could just go in there and stir up some trouble...

likely to find moderator quick that way...

Kind of like slapping a hornet nest...

Everyones doing their own business until someone slaps the hornets nest...

Then you meet the "moderators" ;-)
