Question Best Swamp Cooler Pads?

Anybody like one cooler pad brand over another?

I always just got the Aspen pads from the hardware store. Never paid attn to brand though. We used them in Colorado. Wish it was dry enough here to use swamp coolers.

I'm with you. I've used them all and nothing works better than aspenwood turnings. There's always someone coming out with what they think is a better idea, and I'm somewhat of a sucker for that sort of thing, but I always go back to aspen turnings.

I also agree that brand doesn't really matter.

Aspen as well. I lived 10 years in Tempe, AZ. So I had a swamp cooler, and because I was in a very dusty situation I changed the pads quite a bit.

Thanks you guys!

I USED to be totally clueless, but no more! Aspen pads it is, I think Arctic is a maker for these. It gets beastly hot here and the house is on a hilltop (the wind is dessicating), I suspected the big box store let me down last year. Bad karma for not paying more at the local hardware and bad business too...I'm reformed!
