Actually a good idea. An alternative that would take a bit of work and muscle and bolt cutters would be to make the same 4" spaced "panels" yourself by cutting up a section of cattle panel. 16' long and 48-50" high would yield a LOT of 4" high strips.

Laying most any type of welded wire fencing flat on the ground around the area you want to protect, extending out about 16", will accomplish the same thing at a lower cost.

Just cover it with an inch or two of dirt and let the grass grow up through it to hold it in place.

Other than dealing with rocks underground I think it looks promising.

Looks like those section of shelving one can get at Home depot, cut one side off and pound into the ground.

It would only be tall enough to keep out turtles. If I were to prepare something like this, it would need to be tall enough to keep out rabbits too and, also, not "reflect the sun" as I would be using it around various plants. (7thswan, I'm going to look at what Home depot and Lowe's might have. Great idea!)

Aside from quick, easy instillation, one can pound short lengths of rebar, use L- shaped chicken wire or other mesh type fencing and acheive the same results. I've even temporarily used shelving from an old refrigerator in an erosion area, and have an area in my horse pasture where I've used pine logs along my fencing to keep dogs from digging.

But, then, some like fast, expensive solutions.

I think there are man solutions but I think this guy is going to make buck or 2 on this one. I did not see the price but if comparable to fencing or other products I would do it. I have to agree no real need for the extra expense if you can do the same thing cheaper. I am going back to see how much those things were.

66 feet of 8" wide for $175.00, or 330 feet of 39" wide for $170.00?

Not a hard decision

my biggest problem is my three GP dogs digging under gates and everything else to get inside the fence and to the house. Cutting cattle panel into strips sounds like it might work if it is flat on the ground and anchored somehow so they can not drag it away. T
