Based on the number of them I saw returned for being defective when I was working, I'd advise against them. IF it were my money.

Several years ago, I bought a swisher pull behind finish mower the 2 wheel model ( I think they also make a brush type pull behind). 1st it had a pull rope start and the motor was so big it was tough on me, I had an injured sholder and it bothered it. Next the ground must be almost level, it cannot go though ditches, even shallow ones, without hanging up. It could really mow ,and with it & 46" rider, I could cover some ground, but I seemed to always lose what I gained by forgetting and crossing a very shallow ditch. I would have to unhitch and pull it onto level, pull the rope start again, etc. I sold it at a yard for a decent price, even told the buyer what I'm telling you. The 4 wheel model might work better.

What I recall was people using them like they were brush hogs or "trail mowers", and that's not what they are. You could tell when you'd look under them that they had been used to try to mow really thick weeds and small brush, and it ruined them. They are made to mow grass and somewhat thick grass, and that's it.

I've got a four wheel, 60 inch pull behind Swisher Mower. This will be it's fourth season.

I am satisfied with the job it does, but then this is a big farm yard, not a manicured lawn. I expect to have to replace both belts each year at least once. I have found that after market belts do better than Swisher's belts.

As said before, it is not a bush hog, although Swisher does make a pull behind bush hog. My neighbor has one and it does a pretty good job. It is only two wheel so you can't back up or go over a ditch with the bush hog.

My ATV is water cooled. I feel this is very important as you have to go slow with the mower (< 5 mph ). An air cooled motor would overheat quickly on a warm summer afternoon at the slow speed.

we have the two wheel one, have had a few problems with it,mostly with the motor it cuts nice though,if you have a large area to mow they're worth the investment.

I have the same model and use it for a similar purpose. Bought mine well used from a yard sale for $200 and put $150 in parts to get it running. This will be my 3rd season with it and I've been plenty satisfied with it so far.

Good point about the water cooled atv. Mine is air cooled and by the time I finish (roughly 30 mins) the auxiliary cooling fan has kicked in.

I bought a used one, and I never could get it to cut well at all. Maybe it was the belts, I don't know. I also hated having to continually use my thumb to hold the throttle, because I had to go real slow to get mine to mow anything. I had the 4 wheel kind. I sold it a couple of years ago.

i forgot all about posting this here....lol
well i bought a used one, and for the most part it has been everything i have needed60 inch 4 wheel verison, been able to cut grass/weeds up to 1-2 feet, might have to make 2 pass's on the really tall stuff. working with my 50 inch rider, makes cutting grass so much easier and saves a bunch of time.

thanks for the replies
