Ok have too much Junk and trying to Pack.Ok some is Trash goes to Landfill, some is Metal sell to Scrap Yard, and some is Good but we either don't use it or have two or more and only need one.

Me I'm not wanting to haul all this to New Place but my wife wants to haul it all.

Donate to Kidney Foundation, or Salvation Army...or have a yard sale and charge $1.00 for any item.

Tell your wife: Moving time is a time to simplify your life, getting rid of things you don't need or use.

BINGO! Plus you are saving the hauling of it to your new place (I know you have to haul it to sell it, but then you are getting SOMETHING for it)and you don't have to look at it any more.

Hand her the keys to the truck, and tell her to knock herself out. Works everytime. Have you thought about a dumpster. It sure saves a lot of time.

my husband is a packrat and will pull things out of our charity piles..difficult..

I say..sort, put in vehicle...take to charity and don't tell her.

(if she is reading this I'm sorry but it works for me)

if it has real value, put it on craiglist with some good photos, I've sold some stuff that way

BR - You know that as soon as you throw something away, that's when you'll need it! Or so it seems. If there's a possibility you'll need some item at your new place, then bring it. If you can't see yourself ever using something, pitch it (or maybe bring ONE along "just in case")! Moving is so hard! I feel for you............

I'd keep the concrete blocks to put your sheds on etc BRP, or for raised beds as mentioned. They are getting high in price.

Compromise with her. Get rid of half, keep half.

When we have moved I have found that it is the best time to de-clutter your life. I took 4 truck loads to the recycling bins and charity places!

Loved it.

I *so* understand.... both points of view.

One thing I've learned since dealing with Mom's stuff and my grandmother's stuff that Mom couldn't throw away..... it needs to GO.

I put a few things out by the side of the road every week or so, and folks stop and ask what I want for it. I *love* just saying, "Take it, please."

The joy of giving things away to people who can use them is incredible.

That said..... I wish I had your concrete blocks.

boxes of assorted screws and nails? Priceless!

Well, okay, maybe not quite priceless. I paid $2 for a big box of this kind of stuff the other day. The hot glue gun in the bottom was worth that. I also wanted the fancy drawer hardware tucked down in...that'll make quite a nice addition to a quail cage, LMAO...

I can only haul so many on our Pickup. We are going with Conventional Garden because my wife is wanting to Truck Farm,as far as putting the Sheds on them we have a Large Concrete Slab where a Barn was that we was going to put them there.

I was talking about selling some Firearms, she did say No on that.Plus she told me not to sell Books,I'm still thinking that over.

I'd say, let her have the funds for anything she's willing to get rid of. That's motivation enough for me! I'd sell Dh's pillow if I got to keep the funds. Let her use that $ for anything she wants for the new place.

Call mobile home movers for the block, they'll give you $.5-1 each for them in some cases and have a big yard sale. It'll help with moving cost and clear the stuff you really don't need/use so that you don't have to haul it. The rest you can take to goodwill or the likes in $400 (mostly your your idea of value) chunks and get a tax write off that may get you back a little more money next year. Easier said than done but I still have crap boxed up from where we moved 9 years ago.... How much do I really need it?

We bought 5 acres 10 miles this side from our Cabin.

The Cabin thats another thing our Son has a mess and might need some place to go.So he is wanting to buy the Cabin on Payments.Problem is we are needing Storage at our New Place. We need to either move the two Buildings to the New Place or Sell the Cabin and Lots and Build a Building on the New Place.

Problem is my wife is not understanding this needs to be done now not waiting on Payments from our Son that already owes me $1,500.
