help with tractor drawbar

I bought a drawbar for the tractor to put a ball on so I can move my portable chicken house around the pasture...however the bar rotates around so that the ball can end up upside down...what do I need to do to stabilize the bar to keep the ball upright? with it moving so easily the chickens had an interesting move today.....not good....this drawbar has a lot of holes in it, and fits between the arms....

Sounds like you are missing a part. There should be a yoke that attaches to the third point on the back of the tractor. Maybe do a google search for images of 3 point hitches.

you have a "cheep" draw bar. the ones that go in the three point arms are made for pulling straight back with a hitch pin, not for a top twist load. you really need one that hooks to the belly of the tractor but I'm asumming this tractor does not have a way to use a proper drawbar so you will need to stabize the roll with some extra arms, this takes a little work to be done safe. if you have a local welder get him to make you a set of braces, and do not use the drawbar with the three point arms any higher than the pto shaft or you could flip the tractor.

TSC has a drawbar stabilizer. It consists of a square "sleeve" that attaches to the lift bar, and a rectangular slot that the drawbar slides into, to hold it without turning. http://www.tractorsupply.com/agricul...-cat-1-1000786

They make the little bracket that TSC sells that slides on the lift arm and stops the draw bar from spinning. BUT!! all it does is stop it from spinning, it will still rear up as the 3 pt. has no downward pressure.
They make a set of bars that will go from the top link pin down to the lift arms like stabilizer bars. This maeks the drawbar solid so it won't move up. Better deal is to have a swinging drawbar under the rearend housing. Keeps the hitch where it belongs and won't cause any excitement.
