A new begining. I am farm bound.

On Thursday 3/31 after 24 years of working for the same company, I have walked away. I have nothing to do but sell the house, liquidate many unneeded belongings, pack up and go. Wow, what a journey it has been so far. I hope those on here who trust in God will keep me in their prayers.

Have you picked a area where you prefer to go. Are you making your journey by yourself? Good luck.

You sound positive about what you've done; thus congratulations are certainly yours.

Do you have a goal in mind? You stated you were "farm bound"; so I am thinking that means you are going to take what you are keeping and land on some farm land. Your post didn't mention family. Are you alone in this new adventure or are you speaking for yourself and your family?

I do hope you are healthy as farming can take a toll on one physically. Good luck!

Sincere wishes for you to be happy and successful at this endeavor. Do let us know if it is just you, you and a partner or a whole family unit. We do hope the best.

It will be my wife and I. The plan is to go to West TN, or Southern MO. I have two grown children that still live here in the Northwest. That is the hardest part about leaving, but we feel lead to do it. I hope to by enough property that I can section off 5 acres for each of them in case I can talk them in to moving back with us. I know it isn't real likely, but things happen. If anyone on here has any input on which state should be chosen, or what areas of each state would be good areas, I would love to hear about them. Any other questions, or thoughts for me would be great too.

At times it will be easy, even more times it will be hard, but if you are like many of us on here, even in the hard times it will be fun and make you a better person! Wishing you nothing but the best on this journey.

I like the area below Nashville and LOVED the area above Nashville which is in KY. I also like the Ozarks, be it MO or AR.

I grew up in west TN--be sure you're ready for some hot, humid summers! It's a slow paced area which can drive you crazy at times & crime is rampant in Jackson & Memphis. Even where my family lives which was really rural, things are changing so be sure you're FAR out in the country where you can't be overtaken by development. Sorry if I'm telling you what you already know!

Praying for God's blessing on your endeavor.

You feel lead ?

I would be interested in knowing why you feel lead ?

.... every time I feel lead means everything is about to go wrong!

Hope it goes well for you !
