Shawnee, Oklahoma?

Am doing research on the town since I've been up for a job interview in that town. I know it's 39 miles se of OKC so want to know more about the area. Anyone know?

Anything in Oklahoma is better than Wichita!

Shawnee is a nice town. Close enough to OKC for all the fun extras.

Oklahoma Baptist University, GC Vo-Tech, and St. Gregory's College. Small mall if you're interested.

Very green, lots of trees. Several small towns surrounding it that would have more opportunities for you to buy land (avoid Tecumseh....it floods pretty regularly).

So what do you want to know about the town and surounding area? The north and west side of the town will be more expensive than the east or south side as far as acreage goes. On the north side you have Stillwater and Tulsa as major towns. I live on the SW side of town 20 miles out. I like it. I'm half way between Norman and Tecumseh. Water is the best in the state. If you go to far se there is little to no water and a pond must be relied on from what I hear. Macomb offers cheaper land has a good school system. Less than 600 addresses. Tribbey is OK. But the town splits with another town (Wanette) for mail and schools. Neighbor doesn't like the school system. Don't think you'd want to be further out than that. Maybe Asher. Don't know much about the east, north and NW. The best grocery store around for price is firelake. I got buter for 2 somethning on sale. Their sales are sometimes good enough to get people over a 100 miles away. They have whole chicken on for 59 a pound often. This month boneless chicken breasts are 1.49 pound. Soda is 5.88 for 24 can pak - 2 bucks less than Walley world, large eggs 88 cents a doz, Impretial quarters 16 oz 2 for a buck almost good enough for me to give up butter. I have gotten name brand 2 ltr soda 2 fer a buck. Gotta be careful I might talk myself into a larger freezer.

OCB - I was just referring to the schools located in Shawnee.

And yes, I did leave out OU. But I also left out Oklahoma State (even though I am an alum). Just trying to focus on Shawnee.
