? about vinyl siding

I just bought a really pretty windchime. They were on sale %50 off!
My question is may I drill a screw or eye bolt through vinyl siding? Will I need a special drill bit?And using an eye bolt could I just twist it in by hand like normal?
Sorry it`s a lame question I know : (

Any ordinary wood bit will go through vinyl like butter. Yes, twist in the eye bolt by hand.

Put some silicone caulk on the eyebolt before you screw it in so water won't leak through the hole.

Depending on what you want it to hold, you may want to try and hit a stud, and use an eye SCREW, which is about the same as an "eyeBOLT" but has a more agressive threading pattern to hold better in wood

PS:

Dont expect the siding alone to hold more than a few pounds of tension

The siding will be spaced off of the wall behind it and might have an insulation board back there too. Be sure the eye is long enough to go thru all of it and hit wood. I have no idea what is behind your siding, it might just be black board or blue board which has no strength so you might want to hit a stud. If you dill the hole in the vinyl a little larger then the vinyl won't ride on the threads, just put a little sealer on it.

Thanks, good advice. In this one place it`s just a beam,no blue board like the rest of the house.
