Portable Electric Heater

Looking for a 120 volt, portable electric heater, to spot heat the uninsulated garage. I use a portable propane heater, to take out the chill and then just warm the area I'm working.

I now have the cheapie "milkhouse" heater, but they seem to lose their lunch after minimal use.

Prefer one with a blower fan.

Any recommendations or models to avoid?

I was going to recommend a Mr Heater Buddy but it is propane. I really like the radiator type electric heaters.

I don't know how many volts it is but we use this space heater from Honeywell.

Its amazing, i got it on sale at Walmart for $11 last spring and it keeps things nice and toasty. We have it on all day in the bedroom, the furnace is set to keep the house at 69 degrees constantly and this heater helps keep the house anywhere between 70 and 73 degrees. We have saved money on out gas bill too which is awesome. Last year i spent over $600 heating the house in the winter but this year we've only spent about $140 so far. It hasn't effected the light bill much that i can tell so it must not take too much electricity to use.

I don't have kids but i have a dog and i love the feature that if it tips over it shuts off. Which really does work I've moved it while it was on before and i tipped it too far one way and it turned off, also turned off the other day when my husband accidently kicked it over in the dark. I also like the childproof dial even though i don't have children pets have done crazier things so i don't worry about this heater at all, it gets turned off when we leave the house just in case but it sits in there and keeps tings toasty all day and i don't give it a second thought.

Its not silent but its not all that loud either, my husbands fan is a lot louder then the space heater so if you can stand to listen to an oscillating fan you probably won't mind this heater since it lots quieter, however its not silent by any means.

The information on that heater is that it is 120 volts, and is switchable between 1500 watts and 750 watts.

Most of the milk house style of heaters are 1500 watts.

Is the milk house heater an American made product?

Vornado builds quality products at their facility in Kansas. Several models of electric heaters available. They also produce quality fans. They have been in business for decades.
