How much snow are you expecting mama? It started as freezing rain here, has been going off and on all evening. They say we may get some snow our of this system by Wed morning, but right now it is all ice.

Woke at 4 am, here a little north of Dallas, and the wind sounded fierce. Looked outside-all white! Wasn't predicted, just cold-down to the low teens but its 26 now. Not gonna like walking the dog in am...plus have to walk the neighbors' too.

Its snowing and the winds blowing it looks white out there almost foggy. Looks like we got 2 inches already and its supposed to snow heavy all day We are supposed to get 15 to 20 inches and thats a lot to as we hardly ever get over 10 inches. And my poor mini goats that would cover them up. Glad they got a room shed to be in.

NW Central Texas -- about 3" of ice/snow here with temp of 20 and winds 25-40. Supposed to be 8 tonight. Brrr! Isn't supposed to get above freezing for three days, so the water will freeze up all over town and probably the electricity will go off due to ice. I know this isn't much compared to areas in the north, but figuring that the past four days have been high 60's to 70's, it's a shocker for us.

I'm hunkering down and not planning on sticking my nose out of the door today.

I feel bad for those who will be getting this bad storm. I also hope people are prepared for power outages. We had an ice storm here in Ky a few years back and there was no power in some places for a month. At that time we had just moved to our land and was in a camper so we were fine but others were not. I am just glad we are not getting it this time around.

We're all set, except I have to fill containers & the bath tub with water in case we lose electricity.

We may be a bit strange, but our family actually likes weather like this. It gives us a reason to hole up and relax for a few days plus it shows us holes in our preparations.

Bring it on!!

Its been sleeting all morning and we have about 3/4 of an inch so far with lots of wind. Certainly going to test our preps.

We have only seen three vehicles on the road so far this morning and it looks like folks are taking this serious.

We got lucky and missed the ice/sleet. The wind is brutal, even by KS standards, so snow is mostly drifting. Hope you all don't get the wind, it will be bad if you do.

fill their water and feed before it hits..

we had a bunny hunkering down outside by the corner of our wood furnace building, probably soaking in the heat from it..(a wild one) ..didn't even run when I went out to check the fire..poor thing.

if you have never been in a blizzard, # 1 stay in as much as possible, # 2 if you go outside in the blizzard cover your face with something and wear lots of layers..# 3 stay in

We are on our way back to Mass. from Ca. using the " Low Route " , and after all the phone calls We got from friends and family on Mon. warning us of the storms . We decided to book a motel room in Deming Nm. ( We were here two years ago playing at Rock Hound State Park and like the town ) and wait it out .
Looks like a good choice as the local TV and radio stations in Nm. and Tx. are urging people not to travel till tomorrow ( Giving the snow a chance to melt out ? ) .
The snow doesn't bother Us , as We are driving a large Budget Rental Truck , but My sister in law is following us in a little car , and hasn't driven in snow in 24 yrs.

I am N.E of Tulsa and this is the 2nd blizzard in 2 yrs. Before that I have never been in such crazy weather. WE are getting winds and gusts over 50mph It is blowing in through the door.

There are reports that the Catoosa casino has a roof cave in. The snow is over DH car.

Listened to forecasts last night on KY3 ( local tv station meteorologists )
They said it's a 25 mile 1 way or another break in the weather.
We live 28 miles south of Springfield...ice started here around 4 am...been a mix of ice and snow since then. My MiL lives about 45 minutes North of us on the other side of Spfld....she has a bout 12 " of snow on the ground while we only have maybe 4??
It's steadily coming down...the mass of the storm is predicted to dump huge amounts of snow tonight...schools e-mailes last night before 10pm saying schools were going to be closed.
last ice storm that came through in '07...our electricity flickered a couple of times and that was it..MiL in the North was w/o power for a total of 13 days...Springfield looked like a war zone . Broken trees everywhere.
keeping my fingers crossed as DH's office closed early and he's on his way home.

Whoa! This ol' KS chick has done forgot what cold really is!!
Wind chill of 8, my little dog-lovin' it-and a BIG dog DRAGGIN' me against the wind! ACK! The neighbors dog (Ginger) ripped the leash right off my hand/wrist & I thought...well most of ya prolly know what I thought...she ran w/my dog (never on a leash) then stopped, looked back at me w/pity & came running back to me & sat! I picked up her leash & we started it all over, I finally let her go.
Both dogs beat me to neighbors'garage & waited patiently.
Hope its 60 tomorrow.
