meat grinder attachment question

MY husband just got me this grinder the 1 3/4 hp model( http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabel...h-All+Products ) from cabellas saved our points forever to get a "real grinder" I have been using my kitchen aid grinder and it is juat too small. NOW has any one ever used the juicer attachment http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabel...h-All+Products ? He wants to get me the roma juicer from leamans but we seen this one. The idea of one that I can feed alot into and use both hands to cut and feed is great. We do alot of tomatoes here. Any one seen or used this first hand?
Thanks for any input.

Looks a bit messy to me. Have you thought about a steam juicer? Lehman's carry them but a quick google & you can find a better price. I've had mine over 20 years & wouldn't trade it.

I haven't used one of those, but have a similar one that attaches to my Oster Kitchen Center, and I love it! Your grinder has much more power than mine, and the juicer has a bigger hopper, so I would think the Cabela's juicer would be even better! No peeling, coring, straining, etc., just plop them in there and it does all the work, spits the juice out one side and the garbage out the other, voila! And the Cabela's attachment looks just like the Roma, only you get to attach it to a good stable base (your grinder) and don't have to hand crank, so I can't see where you could go wrong with the Cabela.

The only down side I see is that there don't seem to be additional screens available, but I bet the Roma or the Victorio sets would work (they work on my Oster clone).

Roma Accessory Pack: http://www.amazon.com/Roma-Tomato-St.../dp/B000S2L0AY

Victorio Accessory Pack: http://www.amazon.com/Victorio-Model...5938822&sr=1-1

Of course, that's assuming you'd even be interested in those screens. I use them a lot myself. Good luck, and by the way...I have grinder envy, lol!

P.S. If you do decide to go with the Roma, look around. I think you can find it cheaper than Lehman's. Amazon is cheaper, plus you get free shipping.

I have thought about the steam juicer and have tried it but I want the raw juice. Shove it in, done. I have very limited time. And to cut off several hours of process time is very much needed. I will also have a new, Im talking brand new baby at harvest time so my time will be even more limited.

I do want the other screens. I was wondering if the screens from the others would work also. It looks the same but not sure of the dimentions. There was only one review and it was + I may wait for it to go on sale, and then try it. Waiting for the mixer and jerky slicer to go on sale.

The grinder is a dream if you have been useing little grinders like the kitchen aid mixers. We will be processing our own steere and pigs this year. After dh seen the hard time I was having with just the deer he kicked into high grear looking for the big grinder to go on sale and us have enough points to get it.
I cant wait to have my harvest kitchen this year.

I have one. Used it for the 1'st time last year. I pulp my tomatos to make sauce with and it does a good job.

Prior to getting the cabelas I used something similar on my kitchenaid mixer. However I went with the cabelas strainer since I had a 1hp #22 cabelas grinder and I figured the meatgrinder could put up with the long run times, 1 hour plus, better then a KA mixer could.

You'll be happy with both purchases
