Donahue Trailers

I came across a post on another forum that mentioned Donahue trailers. Since they are so useful thought I'd mention them.

For those that have never heard of them I'll provide a link. I didn't even know they were still being made.

The trailers have a tandem wheel carriage that slides to the rear and lays the trailer portion completely on the ground. Then implements can be pulled on for transport, grain bins can be moved on, sheds slid on, etc. Once the load is on and secured the back wheels are locked to prevent them from turning and the trailer portion is backed up which slides the wheel carriage back into position to be locked there. The wheels are unlocked and away you go. They also work great for large round bales.

We had one that we used for our grain drills, it was 32 feet long. The frame was made up of four 4 inch drill stem pipe, two on each side. It was very handy, but didn't have enough axles under it to put much more than 8 ton on it. It was not street legal. We hauled round bales on it behind the truck and got ticketed for not being street legal.
