'Small Farmers Journal'

Anyone ever seen this publication? I had never seen it, until my girlfriend, sweet gal that she is, came home from the thrift store with a box of them, mostly from about 1985-1997. This is a GREAT magazine, lots of info for the small-time ranchers and farmers out there. Lots of horse info also. The full title is "Small Farmers Journal, featuring Practical Horse Farming".
Unfortunately, they had 2 more full boxes she didnt buy, when we went back a few days later they were gone! Oh well, someone is going to enjoy them.

Yes, We did horse and equipment sales for Lynn way back in the 80's in Eugene Oregon. Then they moved to Redmond Oregon. I grew up with draft horses. Used them for light farm work. Made good money rebuilding old horsedrawn farm equipment in the 80's....James

Are you still working with draft horses? Seems like a good way to go... slow and deliberate. Personally I dont have much experience with them, but Lynn Miller and his magazine really got me to thinking about this. Its nothing I would just jump into, not without a few seasons as an apprentice to someone who knew what they were doing.

You can find back issues on eBay, and possibly other on-line sales places.

Try a wanted ad in Craigslist for back issues within your pick up area.

It's a great magazine! We farm with our horses, cutting hay, raking, skidding logs for fire wood and use them in our market garden. When hubby finishes the snow plow for them we'll also be cleaning the driveway with them..http://www.facebook.com/?ref=hp#!/pa...rm/83624518939 we have a few pictures up I need to post more..

We subscribe currently (last 3 or 4 years) and I've been a subscriber on and off since the late 70s. Great publication.
