I'm making a wood stove with a barrel stove kit and a "D" shaped fuel tank off a semi.
I'm going to put the round part of the "D" down so I have a flat top but I got to thinking Id like to put a piece of fire glass in one side so I could enjoy the flames . That it would also make it a bit easier to keep a eye on how the fire was burning.
So I went looking for fire glass...OH BOY!!!!
Its almost imposable to find fire glass around here ,the glass places made a few calls but in the end they couldn't find any.
So I went into Menard's thinking I might get a parts list from a stove an order a "replacement" glass from a manufacturer.
Well low and behold there was a entire FRONTIERSMAN Door just laying on the stove display rack. Menard's does NOT sell them any more , cant get them ,wont have them etc.
And they didn't have a clue why they had a spare door. WITH GLASS IN IT!
So they sold it to me for 25 bucks ! And shooed me out the door!
