Not sure that ad on the forum is going to bring them business - Homesteading Questions

As long as the forum is making some money on this kind of ad, I am fine with it ... completely irrelevant ad but as long as the forum stays up and running I am fine with it

you might be surprised. several people on here have homes in other countries and with the jerks at TSA it would be worth it to them.

Be aware there is a bad drug problem in Florida with Central FL (perhaps fittingly) is the center of it. Polk County in particular.

Funny, but it seems like a lot of FL retirees (those that have been there a very long time) are retiring to GA, TN or KY.

There's a market for nearly everything. The members on this site aren't all farmers.

Well HT needs cash to keep going and it's hardly a huge revenue maker at the best of times... so if Google wants to target an ad like that well hopefully somebody will click through and make HT a penny or two.

So HT gets a little something-something even if all we do is click on the ad? Don't have to buy anything?

My favorite one ever was "Meet single Iraqi women in your area". I clicked on that one. Twice.

Yes, if you have a website and want to promote it on google ads, you pay a fee for so many hits..... a VERY SMALL portion goes to the website the click through came from, but it is a way to both promote a business and bring in to the website that has the ads on it something to offset server costs [which are continually rising] particularly for those websites like the HT forum which offers very little merchandise for sale.

Some folks are put off by the ads and some folks chose to ignore them, I dont have them on my personal website, but then again i peddle gear for prospecting and the people who purchase from me are not likely to be clicking through to some related site from mine..... which happens all to frequently to niche type websites using google ads for revenue.

Ok so more information than you really wanted, bandwidth is not free and someone has to pay to keep the pipeline [internet] flowing with information.

They are not unpleasant to the eye until they pop out 20 kids and bake in the desert heat at 130 degrees for a few years.
