Cold season remedy

Wasn't sure which forum this went under . Not quite sure if fell under alternative health or not .

true Cold Kicker recipe:

* 1/4 c. ginger root, freshly grated
* 1/4 c. onion, freshly chopped
* 1/4 c. fresh rosemary, chopped
* 1/4 c. fresh sage leaves, chopped
* 1/4 c. grated horseradish
* 4 cloves of garlic (you can up it to 6, if you feel adventurous)
* 2 T. ground cayenne pepper
* organic apple cider vinegar to cover

My guess is that this doesn't really make you well but it keeps everyone away so you can't pass whatever you have to anyone else.

Ugh! Man, that would taste nasty! Bet it would work though!

Another tip that really does work to lesson the symptoms (stuffy runny nose colds) is to cut out all dairy until you feel better. Dairy thickens mucus.

A naturopath told me that for my son, who kept getting colds that would lead to nasty ear infections. And it worked!! Like magic!! Now I do it too.

Looks good to me.

I might double the garlic and before you put in the vinegar, first add a pint of everclear, then ACV to cover, soak 2 weeks in the dark, strain and bottle.

If you've got the Everclear, you don't need any of the other ingredients.

What works for me and others who follow my regime is to take 4 500 mg Echinacea capsules at night when you feel the 1st tickle of a cold. Since I am not a pill taker, I forget when I'm feeling better. I haven't had but 1 cold since 1988; that 1 was in 2005 when I gave DS my last pills. Not able to lie my hands on any quickly, I found bulk Echinacea leaves which I made up into a very tasty tea and got well quickly. BTW, everything in your "serum" I eat/intake in copious amounts already.

I had a sore throat yesterday. Made some hot chicken soup and laid down for an hour and it went away.

Lots of everclear.

It is fairly cheap.

Ginger will kick a cold in the butt. Buy it fresh, peel it, chunk it up and boil the living heck out it. The stronger the better. Add honey to taste.

nope just the ACV... keep it in the fridge. TWO T. of cayene? Man that'll light you up. I just use a chopped up cayene pepper. You can take a T. of this a day to keep from getting a cold too.

Except for the rosemary and sage, that sounds a lot like a recipe that I use. The one I use you're supposed to let it sit about 2-3 weeks and shake the jar every day, then strain out the liquid and discard the pulp. To the liquid you add about 2 tablespoons of honey. I find this works great for colds, flu and sore throats.
