Lady S&W?

I have a Lady Smith, concealed carry weapon, titanium, very nice, hammerless gun.
But last night, I saw a similar gun, that has a laser sight, grip controlled. Dont guess mine can be fitted for this? Or, do I have to buy another gun?

The model number is on the frame under the crane in front of the cylinder.

open the cylinder and it should be inside, if your holding it and looking at it open, it should be on the left.

Thanks, Crispin, but my old computer wouldnt bring it up
it says vkl0298
642-2 on left side
then, it says 038--nothing that corresponds with a frame number.
it has a flat walnut grip, not rounded.
since Crispin says J frame, and sounds as if he knows the gun, I'll guess thats it.

That's the model number, but all the J frames use the same grips

Scroll down to 'J-frame' and you will see the three crimson trace options for the 642.

LG105 = compact size, hard polymer. These are good for pocket carry as they are small but be aware that they can be difficult and painful to shoot for some people, especially as the 642 is a light weight gun and can be a handful with .38 +P ammo.

LG305 = Rubber overmold, extended length. My wife has these on her 642 and they work very well. Much easier to shoot than the shorter length grips. However, they make pocket carry more difficult in my opinon. This may not be an issue depending on your type of pants or if you plan to carry in a holster or purse etc.

LG405 = Rubber overmold, compact length. These are my favorite and I have them on my favorite J-frame carry gun. These have some cushion area at the back of the grip that helps tame recoil a bit. They are much easier to grip securely than the 105's and therefore easier to shoot than the 105's. However, they are not as easy to shoot as the 305's because of their shorter length.

You can pretty much get a full grip on the 305's and I think they make the gun much easier to control, especially if you plan to use +P (which I think is ok for that gun but you should verify this)

Just as an aside, S&W labled more than just the J frame as a Ladysmith. They also offered a snubnose K frame .357 and a 3913 auto as Ladysmiths.

Just an odd factoid....carry on with the discussion...

They also introduced an aluminum framed hammerless 38 with stainless cylinder and barrel in 1992 that never sold that well.

They took the remaining inventory and put a blue/black finish on them, and called it a Model 042, but they never listed it in their catalogs

There are only about 3000 of those in existance.

I've purchased three Crimson Trace laser grips from OpticsPlanet.com. This company had the lowest prices I could find.

I got a chance to handle some Crimson Trace grips yesterday, and they both felt really good.

One set was on a J Frame and the other was on a Glock 23

The J frame switch was on the front of the frame, under my middle finger and was very easy to turn off and on with a slight change in finger pressure.

The Glock switch was at the top rear of the grip, and was a little harder to activate without more movement

I also saw a Ruger 10/22 with the same stock configuration as an AR 15 for around $400
