Your rattler doesn't have the side spots and reticulations of the bull snake depicted in the original thread! I know timber rattlers quite well and collected one of the last bounties on them in Wyoming, WI. Right hand now displaying the arhritic after-affects of having shot the snake in the head instead of the neck. After handling it with a few small abrasions from helping with baling hay that weekend, fingers swelled up like bananas.

I tanned out a velvet tail rattler and now wear it on my black cowboy hat. I have a lot of people comment on it when they see it. I like that little sign you have up "No liquor served to Indians". A beer is Okay but don't serve us Injuns any hard liquor, we like to fight too much!
