Which nut is your favorite?
I'll try this again...

Guess I forgot to check the little box...forget it. I don't really care that much anyway.

English walnuts.
Which is odd, because we live where pecans are about the only nut tree around.

Hickory nuts! Wish they would sell them in the stores!

Depends upon how they will be used.
In the shell to open and eat--hazelnuts.
In butters----peanuts.
In pies-------pecans.
In cakes-----cashews.
Candied-----almonds (Jordons are great). Good Boston baked peanuts are great too.
In sweet slaw with raisins---peanuts.
For simply snacking on----dry roasted, lightly salted peanuts OR Smokehouse style almonds.
If money were no object--good fresh macadamia nuts or roasted cashews.
Favorite to me is connected with usage.

In order
cob nuts
cashews
pistachios
almonds
peanuts
like them mostly salted, do not like nuts in anything, only fresh, and hate peanut butter.

Black walnuts are a native tree here, but I don't like that sweetish, bitter taste peculiar to them.
Like someone else said...if I could afford them, macadamias.
Heard that Jim Nabors owned a macadamia nut farm in Hawaii...what a life.
ETA what's a cob nut?

Hickory nuts and black walnuts. Both native and both not so easy to harvest.
