Sickle sharpening and #26 IHC sickle mower question

Anyone have or remember them. Im going to mount it on my 48 H Farmall. Im needing to know where the mounts are for it to mount the 1 way hydraulic cylinder. If theyre in the back of the V, then I dont have it on my mower and will have to find it.
Secondly
I can cause a wire edge to form on the flat side of a sickle section with a flat file. When Ive done that with all the sickle sections, I turn the sickle over and run the file along the flat of the sections to get rid of the wire edge. If I can do that. Is there any benifit to continue sharpening with 300 grit sandpaper??

Seems the best for cutting hay is a bottom serated knife, can sharpen the top of it a few times.

Mostly done with a stone, tho dad used a file from time to time as well.

Probably doesn't pay to try to get it sharp enough for a doctor, as it runs in the dirt and won't stay that fine for long?

Thats what I do. Never seen a top serreted knife, unless it was turned over. I sharpen it to a wire edge on the bottom side, than slide the file back and forth on the bottom side to remove the wire edge. I have my bar set up around 1/2 as high as the inner and outer runners will carry it, and I have it slightly tilted upward. I have rock in my hay field, ive never snaggewd the bar on it, and dont intend to., but I dont hit any dirt/much lol.

No ideas on where the cylinder mounts to the mower at? Its a simi mount mower.
