What's happening with plywood prices?

I just checked the price of 1/2" CDX. $17!!!!

The guy said that 1/2" BC was the same price.

What's going on? Is most of the CDX going to Haiti for government contracts or something?

I think I'll fill the van with gas and head to MN for a load of plywood. 1/2" of any of it has been over $25 for a couple years. 3/4" is close to $50.

I've seen 1/2" CDX in the $10-$12 range within the past year.

It's not about the plywood, it's about the money. The more money they print the less it buys. Stay tuned for $40 plywood perhaps. The FED is working hard.

Supply and demand!

Demand was down so mills closed and people were laid off. So supply is low and as demand rises so does the price until more mills come back on line and supply rises.

Housing sucks.
Leaves lots of plants stuck with lots of plywood. Low price! Plywood plants are shut down or gone. Less supply, Higher price. If you get a little kick in housing then price will go higher.
